School introduction

◆Background

The construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is a national strategy that President Xi personally planned, deployed, and promoted with global significance. The Hengqin New Neighborhood Project, symbolizing deep cooperation between Guangdong and Macao, injects new energy into Macao's development, provides development space, and its successful implementation will undoubtedly serve as a model for deep integration between Guangdong and Macao. The establishment of an affiliated Hengqin School in the Guangdong-Macao Cooperation Zone is a challenging and long-term endeavor, and Hou Kong Middle School takes great pride in this.1c4d1ebc317b0e85664e54659120184e_1500X1500.jpg

◆School history

Our school, founded in 1932 and with a history of 92 years, is dedicated to cultivating talents who love their country and Macao and contribute to society. Our education philosophy emphasizes moral education as the top priority, with a focus on developing students' abilities and comprehensive qualities. We aim to cultivate students with an international perspective, proficient in digital technology and deeply integrated with various disciplines, so as to enhance their core competencies and foster innovative talents, promoting all-round development for each student.

In recognition of our outstanding academic achievements, President Xi visited Premier School Affiliated to Hou Kong Middle School in December 2019, affirming our educational output and expressing hope that we will continue to nurture more patriotic and Macao-loving talents, which greatly inspired all teachers and students.

Currently, our school consists of five campuses: Kindergarten, Primary School, Secondary School, Premier School and Hengqin School. In the 2023/2024 academic year, there are 185 classes, 622 faculty members, and over 5600 students.

Hengqin School is a complete school from kindergarten to high school. It will officially open in September 2024 and initially enroll students from kindergarten grade one to primary grade two.
