“Journey through Civilizations” Exhibition Welcomes HKP Group at Launching Ceremony

On 29th September, teachers and students (17 in total) participated in the launching ceremony of “Journey through Civilizations” Special Exhibition in Hong Kong and Macau organized by China Central Broadcasting Television (CCTV) and hosted at the “Loving the Country, Loving Macao Education Base for Young People”.

The event was held simultaneously in Hong Kong and Macao via videotelephony. Distinguished guests, including Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Ms. Ao Ieong U; Director of Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ), Mr. Kong Chi Meng; and President of The Chinese Educators Association of Macau, Ms. Chan Hong, attended offline at the Macau venue.

The event was kicked off by a video message from Mr. Shen Haixiong, Vice Minister of the Propaganda Department of the Chinese Communist Party. Mr. Shen said that as the only civilization in the world that has never been interrupted, the Chinese civilization has accumulated the longest and most profound civilizational essence in the long history of mankind. Under the guidance of the grand blueprint drawn up by President Xi Jinping's Global Civilization Initiative, the Chinese people are striving to build a modern civilization for the Chinese nation and to promote new progress in the development of human civilization.

Ms. Ao Ieong U added that the exhibition will surely bring inspirations to the education and promotion of national history and culture and play a positive role in uniting patriotic young people in Macau.

During the interaction session, our student representatives had an online conversation with Mr. Yu Jian, Deputy Director of The Sanxingdui Museum, where they asked questions enthusiastically. Through this activity, teachers and students have benefited a lot. They all agreed that the visit has deepened young students' understanding of our country's history and civilization, and at the same time, they also understand the important role of science and technology in the study of history and archaeology.

In the future, they will continue to study the Chinese civilization in depth, enhance cultural confidence, and make contributions to the construction of a strong cultural country and the construction of a modern civilization of the Chinese nation.
