Crime Prevention Lecture by Judiciary Police Held in HKP

On 18th December, representatives from the Macao Judiciary Police came to HKP to organise a special seminar to promote information on cybercrime and fraud prevention to the teachers and students, as well as to promote the “My Notion of National Cyber Security” Chinese Writing and Video Competition, jointly organised by the Macao SAR Government and the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR.

Representatives of the police said that with the development of the Internet, computers have brought convenience to people, but there are also security risks, and the proportion of cybercrime has been increasing gradually in recent years. When using online services, people should strengthen the awareness of personal information security protection, to prevent personal information from being infringed upon by lawless elements causing losses. At the same time, we should respect ourselves and others, and refrain from indiscriminately spreading others' privacy and unverified information; we should not use language to make personal attacks on others.

Through the seminar, students learnt that cybercrime can be found everywhere, and that reckless use of the Internet can easily touch the bottom line of the law. In the process of daily use of the network, we should be vigilant, not greedy for small advantages, not trusting friends we have never met, not clicking on unfamiliar links, and be more civilised in using the internet, and work together to create a more harmonious, civilised and safe network environment.
