National Security Seminar Held at HKP

In order to further develop the education of "Two Laws" and enhance the awareness of national security laws among teachers and students, in the afternoon of 15th March, HKP invited the “One Country Two Systems” Research Centre of the Macao Polytechnic University to give a talk on "National Security: Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Macao’s Return to the Motherland - The Constitution and the Basic Law in Macau’s Campuses" to the teachers and students. Director Leng Tiexun of the Centre attended the seminar, and the seminar was delivered by lecturer Ho Man Ieng.

In the seminar, the guest speaker introduced national security and the "Two Laws" from three aspects: the internal and external factors affecting national security, the significance of safeguarding national security and the fulfilment of the constitutional responsibility of Macao citizens. The guest pointed out that national security is an important cornerstone for the protection of people's lives and the stabilisation of economic development, and that it is the legal obligation of every citizen to safeguard national security. Using the history of modern China's hard work in the face of internal and external problems, students were encouraged to pass down the spirit of patriotism and to work together to safeguard national security.

The seminar further deepened teachers' and students' knowledge and understanding of national security and the "Two Laws", and enhanced their sense of mission and responsibility towards national security. On the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of Macao's Return to the Motherland, teachers and students of HKP will actively carry forward the spirit of patriotism and love for Macao and contribute to the prosperity and stability of the country and Macao in the new era.
