HKP Students Won Trophies in Macao-wide English Speech Contest


A total of five HKP students stood out from the 30-odd contestants in the preliminary round to enter the final rounds in the 22nd Macau-wide English Speech Contest and the 29th “21st Century Cup” National English Speaking Competition Macau Regional Contest. The award presentation ceremony was held on 5th December at the Macau Polytechnic University, and our students achieved outstanding results.

In the Lower Primary category, P2A Bernice Wong (黃貝嵐) was awarded the Second Runner-up and P2B Athena Lou (盧梓桐) was awarded the Selection Award. P6C Johnny Ieong (楊宇帆) won the "Best Speaker from Chinese-medium School" in the Upper Primary category.

In the Junior Secondary category, S2D Madelyn Wong (黃心怡) won the Champion and the "Best Speaker from Chinese-medium School", while S3B Kenki Lao (劉栢妍) won the 1st runner-up.

The instructors were Ms Mel Kingham, Ms Katherine, Ms Josephine, Ms Lia, Ms Fanny Mok, Ms Ko Ko Ha, Ms Niko Chu, Ms Valerie Choi, Mr Chris Leong and Mr Alex Wu.

In order to encourage people from all walks of life to learn and master English, to promote English teaching and to raise the English standard of Macau, the Macau Polytechnic University (MPU) hosted the 22nd Macau-wide English Speech Contest and the 29th “21st Century Cup” National English Speaking Competition Macau Regional Contest on 25th November. The theme of the event was "Health".
